2. What this policy covers

 

This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the BetScout mobile application (“the App”), how we use it, and what rights you have over it. It applies to users on iOS and Android.

 

BetScout is a sports betting data and analysis tool. We do not accept bets, hold funds, or operate as a licensed gambling platform.

 

 

3. Age restriction

 

BetScout is for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at contact@betscout.com and we will delete it promptly.

 

 

4. Data we collect

 

Account data

When you register, we collect your email address and any display name you provide.

 

Usage data

We collect information about how you use the App: which features you use, how often, and from what device. This includes device type, operating system version, and a device identifier. We use Mixpanel for this (see Section 7).

 

Crash and error data

If the App encounters an error, we may collect information about the crash, including device type, OS version, app state at the time of the error, and a device identifier. We use Sentry for this (see Section 7).

 

Push notification tokens

If you opt in to push notifications, we store the device token needed to send them. You can revoke this at any time in your device settings.

 

Payment data

BetScout is free to use. We do not collect or process any payment data.

 

Communications

If you contact us, we keep records of that correspondence.

 

 

5. How we use your data

 

We use your data for the following purposes:

 

  • Providing and operating the App (contract performance)
  • Analytics and product improvement (legitimate interests)
  • Crash reporting and error diagnosis (legitimate interests)
  • Sending push notifications, if you have opted in (consent)
  • Responding to support requests (legitimate interests)
  • Complying with legal obligations (legal obligation)

 

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

 

 

6. Data retention

 

We retain account data for as long as your account is active, plus 12 months after deletion or last use. Analytics and crash data are retained in aggregated or anonymised form. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 9).

 

 

7. Third-party services

 

We use the following third-party processors who may receive your data:

 

  • Mixpanel: product analytics, with data processed in the EU. See mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • Sentry: crash reporting and error monitoring. When the App encounters an error, Sentry may capture device information, OS version, app state, and a device identifier. See sentry.io/privacy.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play: app distribution, subject to Apple’s and Google’s own privacy policies.

 

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not share it with bookmakers or betting operators.

 

 

8. International transfers

 

Some of our third-party processors operate outside the UK and EEA. Where data is transferred internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including standard contractual clauses approved by the ICO.

 

 

9. Your rights

 

Depending on your location, you may have rights including:

 

  • Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Deletion: request that we delete your data
  • Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time

 

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@betscout.com. We will respond within 30 days.

 

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) in the UK, or your local supervisory authority.

 

 

10. Responsible gambling

 

BetScout is an analysis and information tool. If you or someone you know may have a gambling problem, visit BeGambleAware (www.begambleaware.org) or call the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133.

 

 

11. Changes to this policy

 

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or email. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
